The Newcastle Knights are giving you 50,000 reasons to be at Hunter Stadium this Saturday afternoon!
At half time of the main game, one lucky contestant will kick for cash and share a $50,000 prize pool with the Mark Hughes Foundation if the kick sails through the goal posts.
It works like this:
- Post a photo of you in your beanie at the game on Saturday, using a unique hashtag that will be announced at the game, on either Twitter or Instagram.
- Entries are open from gates (10.30am) until just before kick off (2.30pm).
- The five best entries will be announced prior to the NRL kick off and the contestants will be asked to go to the western grandstand ground floor lift lobby by 3.15pm.
- The five contestants will compete in a Mark Hughes Foundation beanie race at (NRL) half time.
- The winner of the beanie race will then line up on the 50m line and kick for cash.
- If the first kick is unsuccessful, the contestant will have a second chance from the 40m line.
- Up to $50,000 is on the line, with $10,000 of the total amount donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation.

- The maximum prize pool is $50,000, with $10,000 of this being a donation to the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF)
- If the contestant makes the kick from 50m out they win $40,000 and the MHF gets a $10,000 donation
- If the contestant makes the kick from 40m out they win $30,000 and the MHF gets a $10,000 donation
