The Newcastle Knights won one match and lost one match on day one of the Auckland Nines competition at Eden Park.
First up it was the North Queensland Cowboys who defeated the Knights 28-12.
In the second match of the round, the Knights defeated the Penrith Panthers 15-14.
Coach Nathan Brown as well as young half Brock Lamb and joint-captain Tyler Randell recap the day on Knights TV.
The Knights now take on the Tigers on Sunday morning, with the winner to progress through to the first round of the finals.
