Newcastle Knights halfback Trent Hodkinson has been cleared to commence full training after seeing his specialist in Sydney on Friday.
Hodkinson's first contact training session with the team will be on Saturday morning at Wests Mayfield.
The coaching staff expects Hodkinson's first game to be the final pre-season trial against the Canberra Raiders in Orange.
However, he has been ruled out of the NRL All Stars game.
