Newcastle Knights' new recruit Trent Hodkinson was cleared by the specialist earlier in the week to commence skills training with the team.
Hodkinson was welcomed onto the training track by his teammates during Thursday's scorching hot session at the University of Newcastle.
The halfback will need another clearance from the specialist to commence contact training.
