Newcastle Knights hooker Danny Levi was named in the NYC Holden Cup 2015 Team of the Year that was announced in Sydney on Monday morning.

It's been a standout year for the 19-year-old, who has stepped up as a leader playing in the Under 20s competition, before being promoted to the Club's NSW Cup side.

Most significantly, the emerging hooker made his NRL debut in Round 15 at Hunter Stadium against the Cronulla Sharks and progressed to play seven games in first grade.

He is currently a part of the NSW Cup Knights' finals campaign with the team this week moving to a Preliminary Final.

Levi's accolade caps off a successful two years for the New Zealand import.

He led the young Knights to the Holden Cup minor premiership in 2014 before earning selection in the Holden Cup 2014 Team of the Year.

Levi also gained representative selection playing with the Junior Kiwis against the Junior Kangaroos in May for the second year running.

In September, Levi signed a two-year contract extension, which will see him remain in the red and blue for at least the next three years.
