The Newcastle Knights has agreed to terms to extend the contract of halfback Jaelen Feeney for an additional two years, keeping him at the Club until at least the end of season 2017.

"I am estastic to re-sign, it is good to know what I am doing next year and it means I can just concentrate on my footy," Feeney said.

The 20-year-old played with the Under 20s last season before training with the NRL squad during the off season and playing NSW Cup this season.

"My goal is to debut in NRL... and to keep enjoying my footy," Feeney added.

"The community and being here in Newcastle, I couldn't ask for a better place to live. Good people, good mates and it's a good place to be."

Feeney, who has played 17 games in NSW Cup this season and scored ten tries, will play in the NSW Cup semi final against Manly this Saturday at Belmore Sports Ground.

"Hopefully we can go one better in Cup than last year, taking nothing away from that, but hopefully we can make the grand final," Feeney said.
