Newcastle Knights Jeremy Smith, Chris Houston, Pat Mata'utia and Adam Clydsdale spent the afternoon at the Starlight Room at John Hunter Children's Hospital on Thursday as a part of the Livewire program which is supported by the nib Foundation.

The players joined in to play video games with the children and were also duelled in dance competitions which brought plenty of laughter and smiles to onlookers.

One of the young patients challenged Jeremy Smith to get his facepainted with him, and before too long the Knights lock had a glittery red and blue butterfly emblazoned on his face.

Pat Mata'utia was quick to follow suit and had the talented Starlight Room face painter transform him into a tiger.

The players enjoyed the opportunity to interact and have fun with patients as well as the chance to learn more about the wonderful respite and fun the Starlight Room provides at the John Hunter Children's Hospital.
