2015 has been a roller coaster ride for the NYC Newcastle Knights.

Despite several heavy losses they have still won 7 of their thirteen games, and although they sit in 10th position on the ladder they are also on the same amount of points as the Wests Tigers, who are coming 6th.

A recent resurgence in form has seen the young Knights beat reigning premiers the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland and a powerful Canberra Raiders side at Hunter Stadium.

It is without question that the Knights have talent, but the outfit is still very young even for NYC standards.

In their last match, seven of the starting 13 players were still only 18-years-old.

And the stars of last year’s side that won the minor premiership have moved on as well, with Sione Mata’utia, Jake Mamo, Joe Tapine, Lachlan Fitzgibbon and Jaelen Feeney all going into either first grade or NSW Cup.

Taking those names out of any NYC side would be a big blow, but the Knights have replaced them well with the likes of Brock Lamb, Jack Cogger, Jake McNamara and the Saifiti twins.

There is still a long way to go for this team to gel and play to their full potential, but they have shown that they have the mental resilience and requisite skill level to push on this season and challenge for honours.
