Voice for Mining Family Day

Thousands of miners and their families will join Newcastle Knights supporters to pack Hunter Stadium on March 28 to see their team take on the Penrith Panthers.

The Knights are set to wear special hi-viz miners jerseys in support of the region’s miners.

The Knights have had their strongest start to the season since 2006 and will be aiming to string four wins together when they face the Panthers on Saturday in front of a home crowd.

Voice For Mining Family Day is the pinnacle of the partnership between NSW Mining and the Newcastle Knights. More than 45,000 footy fans and miners have been part of the celebration since 2013 and it is now a major community event on the calendar for thousands of people across the Hunter Valley.

Fans and mining supporters are expected to show their support by turning out in orange and hi-viz work wear and is a demonstration of the long held importance of miners to the Hunter community.
