The Newcastle Knights celebrated its 2015 Corporate Season Launch at the Merewether Surfhouse on Friday with the Club's valued sponsors and partners. 

The gala event saw members of the business community join with present and past players, Members of the Knights' board as well as representatives from the Club to kick off the 2015 season in style.

After addresses from Newcastle Knights' CEO Matt Gidley, coach Rick Stone and Captain Kurt Gidley, the 2015 playing squad was officially introduced before individual jersey sponsors and major partners acknowledged.

CEO Matt Gidley was thrilled to see such a strong show of the Club's valued corporate support at the event. 

"We are so fortunate to have such great corporate support, there's been a wonderful attendance here today," Gidley said. 

"The corporate support is critical just like our Membership support. We are fortunate in Newcastle that we have such loyal support and today is a good opportunity to engage with everyone.

"We have had so many people wish us well for the season to come."

Murray McKeough, a local McDonalds licensee relished the opportunity to celebrate McDonalds' relationship with the Club.

"Our partnership with the Knights has been ongoing for quite a number of years now, and it's something at McDonalds that we're very proud of," McKeough said.

"We've gone from supporting junior development teams to a sponsor of the senior side and we're very, very proud to be involved with them."

Hedweld Engineering has been a corporate sponsor for more than six years and recieves a high level of interaction with the team at its business sites.

Director Jan Hedley said she believes one of the biggest advantages of the partnership is the community spirit that it inspires and the synergies between the two Hunter brands.

Korbin Sims' jersey sponsor in 2015 is Newcastle Golf Club with the season launch allowing the Knights' forward to meet and thank the organisation for its support.

"For them to sponsor my jersey for the 2015 season is great, I'm looking forward to it," Sims said.

"It's always good to get around and meet the backbone of our support team.

"It's really good for the boys to actually see who sponsors them and get some information on their input in the Club."
