NRL All Stars teammates Beau Scott and Jeremy Smith have taken time out before Friday nightt’s match to reflect on what has been a great week on the Gold Coast.

Not only has the team trained and prepared for what is expected to be a high-energy match against a star-studded Indigenous All Stars side, they’ve enjoyed being in camp on the Gold Coast.

For Smith, one of the standout experiences of the week was meeting students at a local school in the area where he grew up.

“I went back to one of the schools I grew up near, so it was good to get out there in the community and giving back to the kids,” Smith said.

For both Newcastle Knights, the chance to get to know other players has been a highlight of the week.

“Dave Taylor, he’s quite funny and it a big human, he’s pretty funny the way he conducts himself,” Smith tells Knights TV.

“It’s been enjoyable playing with players you don’t normally play with.”

While Scott added, “For me personally it’s been the opportunity to play with the Kiwi boys and a Pom in big James Graham. I’ve enjoyed his company along the week.

“It’s been good getting to know the boys off the field and getting out into the community.”

In the players’ downtime, Smith cut some laps at an indoor go-cart centre while Scott made an adrenalin-packed visit to Dreamworld.

“We were looked after at Dreamworld and had a ball seeing the tigers and had a bit of fun on the surfing machine,” Scott said.

“We’ve had a great time.

“Hopefully all the Knights fans can watch the game tonight and cheer us on.”
