The Newcastle Knights have selected four new balls kids for season 2015 and would like to thank the 100 plus applicants who put themselves forward to become a new ball kid for the Club’s junior teams from a competition recently conducted.

Community Rugby League Manager Matt Lantry acknowledged the selection panel had some challenging decisions to make with a number of quality applications.

“We were actually blown away with the number of applications we received,” Lantry said.

Tyler Threadgate, Zac Tinson, Lachlan Waddington and Rory Lipnevits were the successful applicants. Tyler, Zac and Lachlan will join Logan Morrissey with the junior representative teams.

NSW Cup will see Katelyn Lockwood progress from the juniors joining Cooper Taylor, Jarryd Morrissey and the newest member and Rory Lipnevits whilst NRL and NYC ball kid members are John Thomas, Noah Ryan whilst Taj Ridley, Sam Stewart, Nathan Thomas and Ethan Davey have been promoted from the NSW Cup for 2015.

“We’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to apply and now with that amount of interest out there we’ll be looking to run another competition at the conclusion of the 2015 season,” he added.

The Knights junior season commences on February 14 whilst the NRL, NYC and NSW Cup kick off on March 7.
