Newcastle Knight Beau Scott has taken out the prestigious Danny Buderus Medal at the 2014 Newcastle Knights’ Presentation Night held at Wests New Lambton on Thursday evening.

“It’s a pretty exciting night for myself,” Scott said after receiving the accolade.

The Danny Buderus Medal otherwise known as the Player of the Year Award capped off a big night of recognition for Scott who also received Wayne Bennett's Coach's Award alongside Alex McKinnon as well as the Gladiator of the Year Award from the Once a Knights Old Boys.

“You always think you want to put in enough effort to achieve a little bit of recognition at the end of the year, but to be given a couple of awards tonight, it’s great," he said.

The night was an opportunity for Scott to reflect on his successful season which included representation in the Country and NSW Origin teams.

The list of achievements continues for the dominating forward who was selected in the Prime Minister’s XIII to play the Papua New Guinea Kumuls on Sunday.

Immediately after the awards ceremony the 30-year-old travelled with fellow Knight and PM XIII teammate Sione Mata’utia ready to fly to Papua New Guinea on Friday.

"Sione and I are off in the morning. I look forward to the trip to PNG and hope to come home with the right result,” he said.
