Beau Scott has been voted the Newcastle Knights Members’ Player of the Year after a standout 2014 season.

Thousands of the Club’s most dedicated and passionate Members regarded Scott as the most outstanding Knight this season.

It’s been an incredibly successful year for the 30-year-old who captained the Country representative side and played all three games for the series wining New South Wales Origin team. He has also been recently selected to represent Australia in the Prime Minister’s XIII on Sunday.

Scott was humbled by the accolade and expressed his appreciation to the Club’s Members for their support throughout 2014.

“It’s awesome to know the Members value what I do in the team,” he told Knights TV on Thursday.

“It’s very exciting and I’m grateful for the award.

For the dominating forward, the highlight of his season was winning the State of Origin series with the New South Wales team.

“There was an eight year stranglehold by the Queenslanders, so it was great to break that this year,” he said.

“I obviously enjoyed playing week in week out with the Knights too.

“Members mean everything, we wouldn’t have a game without the fans and the Members in particular.

“We saw the strong support of the Newcastle last year when we made the semi finals, so I hope to see that again in the future.

“Hopefully they get out there and support us in 2015.

“We finished the season really strong I thought, especially the home games and the Old Boys game.

“To see such a large crowd at Hunter Stadium is awesome.

“I think there are bright times ahead at the Club, and 2015 should be an exciting year.

“There’s a lot of young talent coming through the Club that I look forward to playing along side of and people should look forward to watching.

“Get on board in 2015."

The Knights 2015 Membership goes on sale on Monday. The Membership website is set to go live at 9am.
