The Newcastle Knights and partner Aurizon have today announced the eight finalists for the 2014 Aurizon Volunteer of the Year Award for service to Junior Rugby League.
The annual award, now in its third year, aims to recognise the contributions that volunteers make to Junior Rugby League in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.
The high standard and record number of nominations received this year is a tribute to the amazing efforts of volunteers in 2014. Aurizon generously provides two complimentary tickets to a Knights home game to every individual nominated as part of the program.
The following eight volunteers have been selected as finalists for this prestigious award:
Sally Douglas – Raymond Terrace Junior Rugby League
Glen Pennell – Scone Junior Rugby League
Scott Fisher – Dungog Junior Rugby League Club
Julie Arnott – West Wallsend Junior Rugby League Club
Peter Barry – Denman Junior Rugby League Club
Tracey Rapley – Singleton Junior Rugby League Club
Lindy Hunt – Dungog Junior Rugby League Club
Paula Greentree – Valentine Junior Rugby League Club
Each finalist receives a $250 cheque, courtesy of Aurizon, as well as a complimentary invitation for two to the Newcastle Knights Presentation Night in October where the 2014 Aurizon Volunteer of the Year winner will be announced.
Aurizon and the Newcastle Knights once again congratulate the finalists and look forward to announcing the major award later in the year.
