The Newcastle Knights has named an 18-man squad for Sunday’s Close the Gap Round 23 match against the New Zealand Warriors at Hunter Stadium.

Jarrod Mullen is named to make his return from an abdominal strain, after falling just short of playing last weekend.

Mullen’s return into the halves sees captain Kurt Gidley shift to fullback, with Sione Mata’utia named to play in NYC after he was cleared of a major jaw injury.

Beau Scott resumes after missing last weekend’s match due to concussion while Robbie Rochow is cleared to play after passing the required concussion protocols on Tuesday.

Travis Waddell, Korbin Sims, Adam Cuthbertson, David Fa’alogo and Chris Houston are named on an extended interchange bench.
