Young Newcastle Knights fullback Sione Mata'utia will have scans on Monday for a suspected broken jaw, suffered in Saturday night's win over the Melbourne Storm at Hunter Stadium.

Mata'utia was on the end of a high tackle early in the second half but managed to finish the game.

The 18-year-old was a late inclusion, when Jarrod Mullen was ruled out. Captain Kurt Gidley shifted back into the halves for the youngest of the Mata'utia brothers to line-up for his third NRL game at fullback.

Mullen is expected to return in Round 23, when the Knights host the New Zealand Warriors at Hunter Stadium, so too is Beau Scott.

The other injury concern from the match was Robbie Rochow, who came off with concussion late in the game. He will need to pass the required concussion tests this week.
