The Newcastle Knights has made a number of forced changes for Saturday's Round 22 match against the Melbourne Storm.

Jarrod Mullen failed to recover from an abdominal strain while Beau Scott has been ruled out due to concussion.

Kurt Gidley shifts from fullback back into the halves, with Sione Mata'utia returning to NRL to play fullback. Chris Houston, who plays his 150th NRL game, replaces Beau Scott in the second-row.

As coach Wayne Bennett has done the past few weeks, Travis Waddell starts at hooker with Adam Clydsdale shifting to the bench.
