The RiseForAlex Round drew a phenomenal response from the NRL community with stars’ throughout the game pledging their support to Alex McKinnon by donating items worn during the round, which are now available at the RiseForAlex Charity Auction.
The Newcastle Knights has also listed the teams’ individual signed jerseys worn during the RiseForAlex game at Hunter Stadium against the Gold Coast Titans.
A number of high profile players including Johnathon Thurston, Michael Ennis, Jamie Lyon, Cameron Smith, Greg Inglis and Robbie Farah donned the No.16 jersey in Round 19 and have kindly donated the match worn jersey to the charity auction.
The Gold Coast Titans retired its number 16 jersey for the RiseForAlex Round with the team signing it and placing it up for auction to raise money for the RiseForAlex Fund.
Todd Lowrie, Nathan Friend and Nigel Plum also wore special edition Red and Blue RiseForAlex head gear which are currently listed on the the site.
Along with the NRL stars’ donations are Mick Fanning’s signed 2013 World Tour event and ASP World tour surfboards.
Artists Matteo Charles has donated paintings of Andrew Johns, Danny Buderus and Paul Harragon. The large canvasses of the Knights legends were painted live on the Footy Show held in Newcastle in the lead up to the RiseForAlex Round.
