The Newcastle Knights' NSW Cup side secured an impressive 44-10 victory over Manly at Brookvale Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights were forced to reshuffle their backline prior to the match after losing Timana Tahu and Chanel Mata'utia through injury.

However, the side received a significant boost with the return of forwards Adam Cuthbertson and Matt Hilder.

Despite conceding an early try, the Knights responded with a smooth backline movement down the left edge, which enabled winger Honeti Tuha to cross the line.

Newcastle's lead grew minutes later when forward Pat Vaivai made a half break, offloading to Matt Minto who sent it out wide for centre Pat Mata'utia to race away untouched.

Fullback Brayden Williame extended the lead for the Knights moments later when he crossed over from a short side play by Michael Dobson.

The Knights finished off a great first half when Honeti Tuha threw an inside ball for centre James Elias to burrow over the line.

Newcastle lead 22- 4 at the break.

Both teams had its chances at the start of the second half and it was the 57th minute when Manly crossed the line.

From then, it was all Newcastle as they responded four tries in the final 15 minutes.

It kicked off with a try to Clint Newton, who pounced on a Dobson grubber following a Pat Vaivai line break.

Dobson and Newton teamed up again down the left edge moments later to send Tuha over for his second.

Enjoying a great day out, Newton scooped up a wayward Manly pass to score his second of the day.

The Knights finished the game off in style when hooker Travis Waddell delivered a short ball to Chad Redman just before full time, ensuring a comprehensive win for the Knights.
