Beau Scott has regained his place in the NSW Origin side, now he wants to help end Queensland's eight-year dominance.
That's the overwhelming feeling from Scott after the Newcastle Knights back-rower was named in Laurie Daley's Blues side for Origin 1 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane next Wednesday.
The Picton-born enforcer has been selected in the back-row alongside Ryan Hoffman and skipper Paul Gallen.
Scott says he can't wait to play his first Origin since Game 3 of the 2012 series and help NSW reclaim state supremacy.
"To get back into the squad means a hell of a lot to me," Scott tells Knights TV.
"I guess that’s the main goal to go and beat Queensland.
"So I’m excited about the people they’ve picked around us and I’m looking forward to getting into the week of training and getting amongst it.
"I’ve experienced it (Origin) a few times before and it’s a great week to be involved with.
"Now there’s a job to be done.
"It’s one thing being selected and it’s the next thing to play the game and I can’t wait."
Scott says he is also keen to work with Daley. He played under Ricky Stuart the last time he lined up for NSW in 2012 and believes the Raiders legend has plenty of potential as a coach.
"I haven’t been with Laurie before, so I'm looking forward to it," he enthuses.
"He only took over the reins as of last year, so I’m really looking forward to the week he has got set up for us."
