Fit, fresh and injury-free for the first time in years, Knights back-rower Beau Scott says he is ready for a bumper 2014 season.

In the lead-up to Saturday's trial against the Canberra Raiders in Tamworth, Scott spoke about the joy of heading into the season after a solid pre-season.

The 29-year-old Camden-born back-rower was restricted to just 16 games last season due to injury, but that pain is now in the past as we approach round one against the Penrith Panthers on March 8.

It's a result that has Scott in a positive mindset to star for the Knights and earn back his representative jumpers in the process.

"I’ve had a pretty uninterrupted pre-season, which is good," Scott says.

"I haven’t had one of them for a couple of years, so I’m looking forward to a big start to the year."

On the back of a full-on pre-season training schedule, Scott says the Club are looking good heading into the season proper.

He is particularly excited about the Knights' forwards and the prospect of a number of players like Zane Tetevano and Korbin Sims stepping up.

"The pack is looking good," he says.

"We’ve got nearly the same forward pack as last year, with Snowden back on the field now.

"So we are looking forward to starting the season strong and going from there.

"But this weekend (against the Raiders) is just another step in our preparation for the year.

"So we'll be taking it quite seriously as a trial run and try and get a good 80 minutes under our belt."

Asked if he had a desire to return to the Origin arena, where he last donned the blue jumper back in Game 3 2012, Scott confirmed it was part of his long-term plans.

"Yeah that’s always nice and it’s a thought down the track for me," he says.

"At the moment I’m just worried about playing footy for the Knights and starting off the season strong, so that’s my No.1 goal at the moment.”
