Some of the most exciting emerging Newcastle Knights players will be on show in junior trial matches in Dora Creek this Saturday.

Knights’ junior representative teams ranging from the under 15s through to the 18s will be on deck at Neville Thompson Oval against Wests and Manly.

The Club’s 15s and 17s outfits will take on the Wests Magpies, while the 16s and 18s meet Manly.

All matches will be played in four 20 minute quarters, except for the 17s match which will be conducted over three 25 minute quarters.

The trials will provide coaches with an opportunity to finalise their squads for the 2014 season.

Both the 16s and 18s sides will be cut down to two 25-man squads for the junior rep season after this weekend’s matches.

Knights' High Performance Unit (HPU) coach Troy Pezet says anyone itching for some rugby league action after a long summer of cricket should head to Dora Creek on Saturday.

“They are important trials because the two junior rep teams will be selected based on the players performances in these games,” Pezet says.

“There will be four games on the day and it's a great little venue at Dora Creek in Lake Macquarie.

"All up there is going to be 130 of the best young players in the Club, so all of leading junior rep players will be on show and it's a great chance to see some entertaining footy."
