State of Origin teams named for Game III

The State of Origin teams have been announced for Game III.

The Blues will be gunning for an historic whitewash having wrapped up the series with a 26-0 win in Game II at Suncorp Stadium.

Due to the injuries to Panthers duo Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai, Mitchell Moses has been called into the squad to make his debut at halfback.

Jack Wighton will partner Moses in the halves having featured in the first two games off the bench.

Newcastle's Daniel Saifiti has retained his spot, starting in the front-row.

Apisai Koroisau will also debut off bench in the number 14 jumper.

Melbourne's Nicho Hynes has been rewarded for his impressive form, named on the extended bench.

For Queensland, Knights fullback Kalyn Ponga has returned to the side in the number one position.

Kurt Mann has also been called into the squad, named on the extended bench.

Queensland will be playing for pride and will hope to save themselves from a series whitewash.

Paul Green has given Cowboys sensation, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, his first chance in the Queensland jersey having been named in the centres.

The only other changes include AJ Brimson coming back onto the bench and Kurt Capewell moving to second-row.
