Following Friday’s sponsorship announcement with Red Energy and Tuesday's with Ladbrokes, the nib Newcastle Knights have been buoyed by the Club's corporate support.

Back of jersey sponsors Red Energy and Ladbrokes accompany a number of the Hunter’s most recognisable brands in nib and McDonald Jones Homes, who will remain on the front and sleeve respectively for the season ahead.

“The Knights have done a great job and we’re very lucky to have wonderful brands (on the back of the jersey),” said Newcastle Knights CEO Philip Gardner.

“You look at the Red Energy brand, it is incredibly strong growing in the region and it is represented on the playing kit with nib and a number of very strong national and global brands.

“It is a fantastic testament in the belief of the brand and it is humbling for us to have the support from a sponsorship perspective so we’re going to deliver for them and the community is behind us.”

Managing Director of Snowy Hydro, who own Red Energy, Paul Broad said they were delighted to be part of the Knights.

“It is my humble belief that if you want to be successful in business in Newcastle and the Hunter, you’ve got to join with the Knights because the Knights are our heart and soul,” stated Broad at Friday's Red Energy announcement.

“We are a community grown out of rugby league and you can’t help but be impressed with the deep culture of our community and a culture that says, even though we are not going so well on the field, we show up to watch the Knights play.

“I couldn’t be prouder on our Knights Old Boys Day this year when there were nearly 20 thousand people there.

“We are very proud the Knights are an integral part of who we are and we are absolutely delighted and want a long relationship.”

Gardner maintained it is humbling to receive such widespread support from across the region.

“It has been a sensational time coming from where we’ve been for the last three years to strengthening our relationships with our sponsor family,” he added.

“We have got this tremendous support from Paul and Red Energy and our other major sponsors, and it’s really important that now we deliver.

“The passion among the playing group is as good as we’ve seen it for a long time, the coach has got this group of young men into a great position and they understand they’re representing the region, they are passionate and we’re looking forward to a good year next year.”
