Four nib Newcastle Knights players were in action in week two of the Rugby League World Cup.

On Saturday, New Zealand recorded a 74-6 win over Scotland at Christchurch Stadium. Hooker Danny Levi started the match from the bench, and played 38 minutes in the big win.

In the next match at Waikato Stadium, Tonga defeated Samoa 32-18. New recruit Herman Ese'ese was the starting prop for Samoa, and played 52 minutes.

Also on Saturday, England recorded their first win of the tournament when they defeated Lebanon 29-10 at the Sydney Football Stadium. New recruit Chris Heighington started the match from the bench and played a total of 27 minutes in the win.

He ran for 109 metres from 11 runs.

Meanwhile on Sunday in Townsville, the Fiji Bati were too strong for Wales, winning their second World Cup match 72-6. Knights forward Jacob Saifiti started the match on the bench, and played 49 minutes in the huge win.

He made 133 metres from 11 runs.
