With the 2017 season done, take a look back at the Club’s top performers in each of the game’s key statistics.

Up today is line breaks.

Nathan Ross – 12

Despite playing less games (20) than three others on this list, Ross comes in at the top of the pile in 2017.

While not one of the biggest players around, Ross’ ability to change directions sharply right before contact has seen him make 60 tackle breaks and go on to make 12 line breaks.

Dane Gagai – 10

While Gagai made a massive 143 tackle breaks this year, in the category of actual line breaks he sits at ten.

Like Ross he spent time at fullback and in the outside backs, and made 23 appearances.

Lachlan Fitzgibbon – 8

The only forward on this list, Fitzgibbon averaged the least minutes (117) per line break at the Club in 2017.

A lot of his line breaks resulted in tries as well, as he honed his technique of spinning out of the tackle late to get over the line.

Pete Mata’utia – 7

A solid contributor in the centres all year long, Mata’utia made seven tackle breaks to go with seven tries this season.

Recognised as one of the strongest players at the Club in the gym, Mata’utia put his power to good use when running at defenders.

Ken Sio – 5

Sio rounds out the list with five breaks in his 21 appearances on the wing.

With his role as a set starter from kick returns, he also made 33 tackle breaks.
