The Club farewells Englishman Joe Wardle, who joined the nib Newcastle Knights at the beginning of the 2017 season.

Able to slot in either at second row or centre, the 25-year-old arrived having already played under coach Nathan Brown several years ago in the English Super league.

Wardle made his NRL debut in Round 4 against the Penrith Panthers and went on to record 17 NRL appearances and four tries for the 2017 season.

In August it was announced he would be granted a release due to personal reasons and return home with his family to play for the Castleford Tigers at season's end.

Wardle was also a representative for Scotland between 2010 and 2014 and has been named in the Scottish squad for this year’s World Cup.
