The nib Newcastle Knights' Round 2 encounter with the Gold Coast Titans resulted in a much-needed win, now Dane Gagai is confident their second clash this season could notch up victory number two.

With a sunny Saturday afternoon forecast on the Queensland coast, the Knights centre says the team has prepared well.

"It is great heading up there, hopefully the weather holds up and it makes for a good game,” Gagai said.

While the much talked about Jarryd Hayne is considered a danger man, Gagai admits he’s not the only player they’ve got to worry about.

“Obviously, he’s a quality player but they’ve got a quality outfit,” Gagai explained.

“They have got good halves, their forwards are strong and agile, big backs, obviously (Jarryd) Hayne is going to be a key for them but their halves play a big role for them too.

“We just need to worry about ourselves, control what we can control."

The Knights centre believes Titans hooker Nathan Peats will also be one to look out for.

“Peatsy is a good player, he brings a lot, he’s direct and he steers their forward pack around the park well,” Gagai admitted.

“You have also got Ryan James leading from the front so they have a good side but if we control the things we can, I believe it’ll go a long way to us winning.”

Gagai is adamant getting the early ball and building up momentum is the way to go.

“Fast play the ball speed, it’s always good for whole team,” he said.

“If I’m not making a break and generating the quick play ball then I’m helping out the next bloke off the back of that.

“We have got me and Kenny (Sio) on the right side and his play the balls are great for us.

“We have got (Nathan) Rossy and Pete (Mata’utia) on the other side and Brendan Elliot has been great for us at the back especially defensively organising our numbers well.

“I am confident in this week but we want to make sure we execute now.”

In team news, Pauli Pauli and Lachlan Fitzgibbon have dropped off the extended bench, with the final 17 to be confirmed an hour before kick off on Saturday.
