The Newcastle Knights welcomes a number of new additions to the football department when the team commences pre-season training on November 1.
Tony Ayoub has joined the Club from the St George Illawarra Dragons as Physical Performance Manager, and will oversee the entire training, medical and rehabilitation program.
Ayoub, who has also worked for the likes of Melbourne Storm and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, commences with the Knights at the conclusion of the Australian Four Nations campaign.
Kurt Wrigley links with the Knights as NRL Assistant Coach, after seven years with South Sydney, while Simon Woolford joins the Club as Assistant Coach and Reserve Grade Coach.
Additionally, Luke Portese joins the strength and conditioning team and the Club welcomes Doctor Jenny Coleman.
The Club has also increased its commitment to the Elite Pathways (Junior Development) team with the addition of Scott Dureau as Elite Pathways Coach, joining Troy Pezet, Alex McKinnon and Matt Toohey.
“We are pleased to introduce a number of new faces to the football department,” CEO Matt Gidley said.
“Most new additions have been part of high performance cultures for a number of years with several winning NRL premierships at previous clubs."
The Club thanks a number of departing staff from the Football Department.
“All departing staff have made valuable contributions to the Club and we wish each of them the very best for the future,” Gidley concluded.
