The Newcastle Knights are proud to support the 2016 RSPCA Cupcake Day with a number of players taking the time to speak about their furry friends in the lead-up to the event.
To raise awareness and funds for the RSPCA, the Newcastle Knights will hold a Cupcake Day stand and will be collecting donations at the game on Sunday at Hunter Stadium.
RSPCA NSW and the Knights are encouraging animal lovers to show their support for Cupcake Day to raise funds for the wonderful work the RSPCA does thoughout the state.
As a non-for profit charity, RSPCA NSW relies on donations to be able to continue its work against animal cruelty.
The RSPCA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is the voice for the animals of Australia. The RSPCA defends their dignity and fights to stop cruelty. It offers shelter, medical attention, education and love. The RSPCA aims to bring solace to the abandoned, injured and surrendered and strives to prosecute those who harm animals in the fight for the humane treatment of all living things.
Make sure you visit the RSPCA stall from 12pm on Sunday in the Fan Zone at the Western entrance of Hunter Stadium which will be selling cupcakes $2.50 to raise money for the RSPCA organisation in Rutherford. The cupcakes include a free animal confectionary dog bone.
Other ways people can be part of RSPCA Cupcake Day is by baking cupcakes and hosting a cupcake event with family and friends, buying cupcakes at RSPCA services events, or donating directly to RSPCA NSW.
Players Brendan Elliot, Pauli Pauli and Korbin Sims were thrilled the Club has thrown its support behind the RSPCA event and spoke to Knights TV about their own beloved pets.
