A group of lucky children took part in the McDonalds Jarrod Mullen Master Class at Hunter Stadium on Tuesday where they were given the chance to learn football skills from the Newcastle Knights five-eigth.
The children won the opportunity to attend the exclusive clinic and to bring a friend along after entering a competition run through the NEW FM radio station.
In the hands-on session, the kids were taught fun, football skills and given a special insight by Mullen into what it takes to play in the NRL.
"I have been doing it for a few years and it's awesome," he told Knights TV.
"They seem to really enjoy it and I get a kick out of it too. It's great to see them out here.
"We did some busting through the pads as well as specialty skills like kicking."
What Mullen enjoys most about working with young fans is seeing them have fun while enjoying the game and helping to improve their skills.
"The kids who have been playing footy on the weekend, you can tell by their skillset, but there are other kids who are either playing rugby league or soccer, they still have some good kicks in them," he said.
He thanked the Club's sponsor McDonalds for their involment and also revealed his first job was indeed at McDonalds when he was a teenager.
