Newcastle Knights halfback Trent Hodkinson is pleased with his recovery from a knee complaint and his ability to train with the squad ahead of Saturday's Round 11 match against the Wests Tigers.

He's expected to make a return to the side after sitting out Sunday's match against the Cronulla Sharks.

"I got through really well and trained earlier in the week on Wednesday and it pulled up nicely," he said.

"It's feeling really good.

"I have been back and have done everything with the boys.

"It has obviously been a shorter turnaround but I have been doing everything out there with the boys."

The Knights are eager to make ammends this week after a disappointing result at home on Sunday.

"We want to get back in the winner's circle and it starts this week," he said.

Hodkinson is one of a number of Knights who have pushed for fitness ahead of the Round 11 clash.

"A couple of other guys got through training which is good," he added.

"I'm not too sure what the final side is, but there's a squad travelling down to Campbelltown now and I'm sure Browny will make that call once we get down there."

The Knights travelled to Sydney with an extended squad after Captain's Run training session on Friday.
