The Newcastle Knights were pleased to support the City of Newcastle RSL and Legacy in conjunction with the Round 8 match played at Hunter Stadium on ANZAC Day.

During the match day a total of $10,500 was raised through bucket collections and poppy sales which will assist Legacy in caring for the families of veterans who have died or become incapacitated either in service or subsequently.

The Club also auctioned its match worn, player signed ANZAC jerseys following the match and raised $9083.80 for the City of Newcastle RSL. 

The Returned and Services League of Australia ( RSL) is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected national organisations. Established in 1916, the League supports the welfare and promotes the interests of serving and ex-service Defence Force members and their families.

A cheque was presented by Knights CEO Matt Gidley to the City of Newcastle RSL’s Honorary Treasurer, Mark Minell following the Newcastle Knights' training session on Monday.
