In team news, rookie Brock Lamb is poised to make his NRL debut at five-eighth alongside Trent Hodkinson.

Lamb, a Knights junior, trained with the NRL squad during the pre-season and has captured attention after stellar performances in the Club’s NYC side.

“We have been training out there this morning and Brock Lamb has filled in at five-eighth so he is going to get his opportunity this weekend which is exciting for him and his family,” Hodkinson said after the captain's run.

“He’s been playing some good footy down in the 20s.

“He’s a great young talent and I know he’ll be ready for a big game.

“He’s quite a mature young kid and has his head screwed on nicely and is confident as well so I’m sure he’ll be right."

Hodkinson aims to offer plenty of support and guidance to his underling in his maiden match in the NRL.

“I’m going to help out as much as I can,” he said.

“Having that experience I’ll try to help him out where I can.

“That will put a bit more responsibility on my shoulders which I enjoy.

“Hopefully we can combine well together and get our team over the line."

With the recent development that experienced five-eighth Jarrod Mullen is set to miss a number of weeks due to a hamstring injury, it’s seen as particularly important for the new partnership to flourish on Saturday.

“It’s unfortunate what happened to Jarrod. You don’t like to see any player go down untouched like that,” he said.

“My heart is with Jarrod, but Lamby gets an opportunity now.

“I’m sure he’ll be right.”
