Round 6 at Hunter Stadium

The Newcastle Knights return home after two away matches to host the Wests Tigers at Hunter Stadium on Sunday April 10.

Joint-captain Tariq Sims is set to kick off his season, returning from suspension to line up against the Tigers.

The Allan McMahon Shield will be up for grabs in the round six encounter. McMahon played 89 games for the Tigers and was the inaugural coach of the Knights. The two sides have played for the shield since 2003.

Voice for Mining Day

The Knights join with NSW Mining to celebrate the mining industry's contribution to the Hunter region, which includes running out in a replica mining jersey and inviting local miners to the match.

This is the fourth Voice for Mining Family Day at Hunter Stadium and fans are once again encouraged to join the team in wearing high-vis.

Charity partner, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, will land at Hunter Stadium on game day to deliver the match ball as part of celebrations with NSW Mining.
