Huntlee was unveiled as a new sponsor of the Newcastle Knights for the next three seasons at the Club's annual awards evening on October 9.

The multi-year deal will see the Huntlee logo in the prestigious sternum position of the Newcastle Knights jersey.

Huntlee Project Director, Stephen Thompson, said the Huntlee team is delighted to form an association with the Hunter’s favourite sporting team.

“The Knights are an iconic brand in the region and have some exciting community initiatives for the future,” Mr Thompson said.

“The philosophy of our business is to develop sustainable and enjoyable living environments for our residents. We look forward to providing some unique opportunities for the families of Huntlee through this sponsorship deal.”

Knights CEO, Matt Gidley, thanked Mr Thompson and his team for Huntlee’s long-term commitment to the Knights, saying the deal is a significant community partnership for both parties.

“Huntlee is a world class development right here in the heart of the Hunter,” Mr Gidley said.

“We are thrilled to partner with an organisation which is not only boosting the local economy but creating an entire new town which many Hunter families will be proud to call home.”

The Knights will first wear the jersey featuring the Huntlee logo at the Auckland Nines tournament in February as part of preparations for the 2016 NRL season.

ABOUT HUNTLEE

Located at the start of the Hunter Expressway, Huntlee is the first new town to be built in the Hunter Valley in more than 50 years. On completion, it will comprise four neighbourhood villages surrounding a vibrant 200ha Town Centre. In total, it will boast 7500 dwellings.

Huntlee is a fully master-planned community with a focus on education, employment and recreation opportunities for its residents. It represents a total investment of $1.5billion and will generate approximately 3000 permanent jobs and many more during the construction phase. The Stage One works, which commenced in February 2014, include subdivision of the first residential village, Katherine’s Landing, to accommodate up to 1700 dwellings on 1391 lots plus an extensive range of community facilities. Stage One also includes development of the first 60ha in the mixed use Town Centre and up to 120 large lot residential sites.

Huntlee is part owned and project managed by LWP Property Group, the developer of Ellenbrook in Western Australia. In May this year, Ellenbrook was declared the Best Master-Planned Community in the World by the International Real Estate Federation at its prestigious FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards. The community-building model employed at Ellenbrook is the same model LWP is employing in the development of Huntlee.
