Newcastle Knights SG Ball player Tom Starling claimed one of the major junior rep awards for season 2015 at the New South Wales Rugby League awards night, held on Monday night at The Star.

Starling was named SG Ball Player of the Year and shared the stage with other award winners such as Josh Dugan, who won the prestigious Brad Fittler Medal.

The night recognised the achievements of players across all NSWRL teams and competitions, from Origin to seniors, juniors, women and Indigenous, as well as the contributions of referees and club officials.

“Tonight was a wonderful way to celebrate the success of rugby league in NSW, from the grassroots to the elite level,” said NSWRL chief executive David Trodden said.

“I congratulate all the award winners for their outstanding achievements. It’s truly a wonderful reflection on the organisation and its direction.”
