NSW Cup Newcastle Knight Nathan Ross caught up with his teammates in the sheds after Sunday's Round 17 win against the Manly Sea Eagles.
And it was smiles all round after the side defeated the visitors 48-14 at Newcastle's No. 2 Sports ground.
It was the first match for new recruit Damian Sironen in the red and blue after joining the Club from the Tweed Heads Sea Eagles.
"It was good and I really enjoyed it. It felt like I slotted straight in and it was good having the experience of the big Jez (Jeremy Smith) and Newts (Clint Newton) helping me to get around th park," Sironen said.
Under 20s regular Josh King made a good impression in his second game with the NSW Cup Knights scoring a try at the start of the second half.
"It's a bit tougher than Under 20s and a bit more physical, but they are a great bunch of boys, so it's been good," King said.
"The boys are a lot bigger in this competition, so it's given me a taste of what it's like and I'm enjoying it."
Meanwhile veteran NRL Knight Jeremy Smith featured in the line-up and proved his fitness in the game after recovering from a sternum injury.
"It was good and I really enjoyed it. NSW Cup has a fair team and I was happy to come back and slot straight in and tick over the legs," Smith said.
Smith said he has recovered well and feels confident in returning to the NRL on Friday night against the Canberra Raiders.
"I tried to get a couple of shots on their to test it out and I felt really good."
