Newcastle Knights forward Chris Houston is set to be sidelined for a month due to a broken finger.

Houston broke his finger in Sunday's loss to the Cronulla Sharks and is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

“Houso is going to be out for a while, he broke his finger badly and he’s going into surgery this afternoon," coach Rick Stone admitted on Tuesday morning.

He is expected to return in Round 20, when the Knights take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.
