Newcastle Knight Beau Scott says it’s business as usual for NSW Blues as the team prepares to travel to Melbourne for the second installment of the series to be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday night.

“We have planned and prepared exactly how we did for game one. We just need to execute and keep that intensity for the 80 minutes of the game,” he said.

As a return player to the NSW representative side, he expects to reap benefits from established relationships and combinations among the NSW team, including that with his centre Josh Morris.

“Each edge works together and knowing the players inside and outside of you helps you a lot as well,” he said.

“I have a lot of faith in Josh and the role he does in the team.

“I enjoy playing on the edge with him."

Scott is eager for game two after a quality week of training in Coffs Harbour, where the Blues camp is based.

“I am excited. We’ve had a really good week and have trained really strong,” he said.

“One more session then we jump on the plane.

“We have left nothing in the tank up here, so there’s no excuses for us really.

“It means the games getting a little bit closer, there are only a couple of session until the big one."

Putting pressure on Queensland’s halves is what the dominating second rower sees as his strength and what could be the difference in the final result.

“That’s why I’m in the team and that’s what I’m good at,” he added.

“I do enjoy it because I guess it gives us the edge to hopefully get the win on Wednesday.”
