Newcastle Knight Beau Scotts looks to embrace the team’s home advantage when the side meets the Canberra Raiders at Hunter Stadium.

“We need to put in a good performance tomorrow and need to start winning games if we want to be a part of the finals at the end of the year,” he told the media on Friday.

“We are going to have to aim up in defence to start with and hopefully can get on with the rest of the game.”

While it’s a tough task taking on the dynamic Canberra Raiders who are also leading into the Round 13 hungry for a win after a string of losses, Scott believes the Knights are capable of shutting down their strike power.

“They have been really good with the ball and have scored a lot of points against some quality opposition,” he said.

The Australian Test player is particularly pleased to play at home after a taxing trip to New Zealand last weekend.

Scott backed up after playing game one of the Origin series to take the field against the Warriors.

“We had a few injuries leading into the game and I thought it was important game to get over there and be a part of,” he said.

“It’s always pretty tough without playing an Origin four games before.

“I went over a day later, which helped me, but it’s a tough trip regardless.

“It was a bit disappointing the second half over there, but I think we can take a little bit out of it and we have had a good build up this week coming into Canberra."
