Match Analysis

The Knights kicked off the 2015 season with a big win against the New Zealand Warriors at home.

Beau Scott assumed the captaincy that day when Kurt Gidley was scratched late through injury, with coach Rick Stone pushing young utility Sione Mata'utia to fullback.

The Knights started the game well with an early try to Dane Gagai, but soon after Tyrone Roberts was forced from the field with a head knock and the Warriors quickly capitalised with two tries of their own.

At half time the Knights found themselves on the wrong end of a 14-6 scoreline, but fought back valiantly in the second half to score through Gagai, Tyler Randell and Robbie Rochow to run out 24-14 winners.

It was a memorable game for Randell, who scored his first NRL try and was particularly effective throughout the 80 minutes.

Akuila Uate also had a big game, taking the Players' Player award with 161 metres gained from 10 runs and a linebreak that led to the Knights' opening try.

The Knights' line-up in their Round 12 game against the Warriors will be significantly different, with Gagai now occupying the fullback position and Sione Mata'utia joining Joey Leilua in the centres.

Korbin Sims has moved to the bench while Dave Fa'alogo starts in the forward pack, and Tariq Sims replaces the injured Robbie Rochow in the second row.

Kurt Gidley has also taken over from the injured Jarrod Mullen in the halves.
