The Newcastle Knights invite SES volunteers to the Club’s Monday night’s match against the Brisbane Broncos as a sign of appreciation for their efforts during the recent storms.

The Hunter was hit with a severe storm on April 20 and 21, which saw much of the region call upon SES volunteers to assist homes and businesses.

“We want to say thank you to the SES volunteers who worked tirelessly for the region during the damaging storm last month,” CEO Matt Gidley said.

“As our region does, we look after each other at a time of need and we are extremely grateful for the job these volunteers did and will continue to do.”

Radio 102.9 KOFM, who call all of the Knights' games, have joined with the Knights to say thank you.

"KOFM and the Knights stand as one with our community to honour and applaud the dedication of the remarkable SES volunteers,” KOFM’s General Manager Steve Smith said.

“This is just a small way to show we really appreciate them.”

Minister for Emergency Services David Elliott thanked the SES volunteers who carried out many heroic deeds without a thought for their own safety.

“I know SES members don’t volunteer for praise, but I would like to take the opportunity to express my admiration and appreciation for our volunteers and their outstanding service,” Mr Elliott said.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter and Central Coast, Scot MacDonald said the tickets were a great acknowledgment of the character and community spirit in the Hunter and the Central Coast and he hoped families would enjoy taking time to out to watch the game.

SES Commissioner Adam Dent said the hard-working SES members appreciated the offer, “This is a great reward for our members who have worked tirelessly to protect and assist communities and help get them back on their feet.”

To redeem on match day, simply attend any Tickemaster Box Office window at Hunter Stadium with SES photo identification.

The complimentary ticket is general admission and any accompanying guests may purchase a general admission ticket (Adult $25, Concession $20, Child $10).
