Despite two losses early in the season the NSW Cup Knights have bounced back to sit in third place at the end of Round 8.

With five wins from eight games young coach Matt Lantry has done a good job in picking up where Rick Stone left off last season.

While the side has lost such players as Travis Waddell, Matt Hilder, Josh Mantellato and Timana Tahu, the 2015 squad has seen an influx of classy NYC graduates including the likes of Jake Mamo, Jaelen Feeney, Lachlan Fitzgibbon and Joe Tapine.

On top of this, experienced heads such as Clint Newton, Pat Vaivai and Nathan Ross and the addition of New Zealand Warriors playmaker Carlos Tuimavave has guaranteed the team is in a strong position with a third of the season gone.

Once the Representative Round is complete the team will look to solidify their position when they take on last-placed Northern Sydney Bears next Sunday at Newcastle Sports Ground.
