Newcastle Knights hooker Adam Clydsdale completed his first pre-season training session with the team on Thursday following an off season setback.

“This session was pretty tough, it was my first one back from a foot injury,” Clydsdale said.

“I was doing a bit of running in the off-season and fell in a hole, so now after a bit of recovery I’m back into it, which is good.

“Pre-seasons never get any easier, but I’m looking forward to a new year, especially with the new coaching staff and the new players here."

After making his NRL debut in 2013 and playing two games in his first season, Clydsdale made 21 NRL appearances in 2014.

“2014 was a good year for me to come into I thought, I got a lot of experience from that but we’re all looking forward to 2015,” he added.

The 21-year-old for now however is just focused on getting back to full fitness.

“My goal for pre-season at the moment is just to get back on the field running at 100 per cent, and to get to the highest level of fitness I’ve ever been at so I can hopefully play more minutes in the NRL,” Clydsdale concluded.
