Australia defeated Samoa 44-18 in the final round of the Four Nations Tournament at Wollongong on Sunday afternoon.
The win for Australia secures their spot in the Four Nations Final against New Zealand in Wellington, while the loss end's Samoa's campaign.
Samoan captain David Fa'alogo, who scored a second half try, reflected on the tournament following the match.
"It has been an awesome experience, words can't even describe," he said.
"I am so proud of the players, the coaching staff have done an enormous job and just everyone that has been involved, it has been a great experience.
"I have just enjoyed the whole campaign and it is something I will really cherish."
Fa'alogo also believes it is only the start for Samoan Rugby League.
"This is the first time we have entered into a Four Nations and playing against the three best countries in the world," he added.
"This is a good stepping stone for Samoa and it will be nice to see big name players wanting to play for Samoa in the future.
"We have a lot of players to pick from and it is only going to get bigger, it is something for us to look forward to."
For the Australian squad, including Knights Sione Mata'utia and Beau Scott, they travel to Wellington on Monday as they prepare for Saturday's final against the Kiwis.
