The Mata'utia brothers, Chanel and Sione, scored 20 of the Newcastle Knights' 42 points in Saturday's win over the Parramatta Eels, in just their sixth game of NRL.

18-year-old Sione crossed for two first half tries, before 22-year-old Chanel recorded a hat-trick in the second half.

The five-try haul follows Sione's hat-trick and Chanel's single in the Knights six-point win over the New Zealand Warriors in Round 23, after bursting onto the scene in Round 20.

"Sione was always going to be a top player, I don't think anyone has really doubted that since they've seen him play," coach Wayne Bennett explained following the game.

"Chanel when he came here was so far off the pace...so it's a real credit to him.

"He's done such a good job on himself and has bought into what we've done at training, he's a very good player.

"He's always had the ability but didn't have the right attitude, so it's nice to see and pretty special for two brothers playing together in a footy team at any stage."

Bennett also praised his two centres, Joey Leilua and Dane Gagai, who were dominant in the 30-point win over the Eels at Hunter Stadium.

Sione remains eligible to play in the NYC finals, who also defeated the Eels on Saturday, while Chanel will return to NSW Cup, who secured second spot after defeating the Newtown Jets.
