The Newcastle Knights and nib health funds announced on Thursday a new three-year partnership that will see nib’s length of support extend to 30 years with the Club.

nib will continue as a Major Partner of the Newcastle Knights with the iconic Hunter-based brand remaining on the jersey sleeve of playing and retail jerseys through to the 2017 season.

nib Chief Executive Officer, Mark Fitzgibbon, said nib has supported the Knights since the Club’s foundation season in 1988 and has held the jersey sleeve position since 2003.

“The Newcastle Knights sponsorship plays an important role in delivering national brand exposure for nib as well as meaningful engagement with NRL fans and the Hunter community,” Fitzgibbon said.

“As a proud Novocastrian company we understand the importance of the Knights to the people of the region and today have we have again committed our support to the Club.”

Newcastle Knights CEO, Matt Gidley, reaffirmed Mr Fitzgibbon’s message of support and welcomed the health insurance leader as Major Partner for the next three years.

“nib has always shown incredible loyalty and support of the Newcastle Knights," Gidley said.

"Similarly, we understand the Knights are an important and integral part of nib’s business strategy to grow their brand and national customer base.

“As the Knights enter an exciting new chapter in the Club’s history, nib, as they always have done, have offered their support first up, by partnering with the Club for an additional three years.

“Through the good and difficult times, nib has always been there for the Knights and on behalf of our players, officials, members and fans, I pass on our sincere thanks for their continued support.”
