Newcastle Knights forward Adam Cuthbertson will replace the injured Chris Houston for Sunday's match against the Gold Coast Titans at Hunter Stadium.

Houston, who was set to play his 150th NRL game, is sidelined due to a knee injury he suffered in last weekend's win over the Cronulla Sharks.

"I have been on the sideline for the last six weeks but I was lucky to get a run last week with premier league otherwise I would be a bit underdone," Cuthbertson admitted.

"(Chris) Howso pulled up dusty after the weekend so I get to slot straight back in."

Cuthbertson was named on an extended bench, in an otherwise unchanged line-up.

Meanwhile, Alex McKinnon joined his teammates at Wests Mayfield on Saturday, his first time back in Newcastle since he was injured in Round 3.

"It is great to have him here at traiing, he lifts the team morale massively," Cuthbertson added.
